AZ2130/85 – Water-Based Exterior Wood Clear Coat with UV Protection

AZ2130/85 is a transparent water-based clear coat designed for durable protection of exterior wooden surfaces. It is formulated for professional applications where transparency, weather resistance and reliable long-term performance are required.

The coating offers excellent pore wetting and is easy to apply. Its good thixotropy makes it suitable for both horizontal and vertical surfaces in industrial and non-industrial applications.

UV and weather protection

AZ2130/85 contains special UV absorbers and radical scavengers that help protect the coating from ultraviolet radiation and reduce embrittlement over time. For maximum exterior protection, the manufacturer recommends adding 0.5–2% XA4044/XX pure iron paste, which can improve resistance to environmental exposure while maintaining coating transparency.

Key benefits

AZ2130/85 combines fast drying with high durability, resistance and elasticity. It also provides excellent adhesion to existing paint films, including previously applied solvent-based coatings, making it suitable for restoration work.

Surface preparation

As a transparent clear coat, AZ2130/85 should be applied over wood previously treated with protective stains such as AM0546/XX or AM0549/XX. Where a pre-primed system is preferred, AM473 is recommended for spray application and AM479 for flow-on application.
