Straight Router Bits
CMT shank-mounted router bits for grooving, template routing, profiling and edge machining, with metric 6, 8 and 12 mm shanks. The range includes straight Z2 and Z2+1 bits, bearing-guided cutters and models with replaceable knives.
How to choose a shank-mounted router bit
Select the shank diameter S first, followed by cutting diameter D, cutting length I and overall length L. Profile cutters may also specify radius R.
Z2 and Z2+1 grooving bits
Z2 bits are suitable for grooves, recesses, contouring and side cutting. Z2+1 versions add a frontal cutting edge for controlled ramp entry into the material.
Bearing-guided and replaceable-knife cutters
Bearing-guided bits follow a template or workpiece edge for accurate contour reproduction. Replaceable-knife models are practical for MDF, laminated chipboard and other abrasive materials because worn cutting edges can be rotated or replaced without regrinding the cutter body.
Materials and applications
Depending on the model, these bits can be used on solid wood, MDF, chipboard, plywood and laminated panels. Select the cutter according to material, cutting depth and machining operation.
