KLEIBERIT 436.3 adhesive — water-based polyurethane dispersion for 3D lamination. Manufacturer: KLEIBERIT, Germany.
Applications and features
Designed for laminating routed MDF furniture fronts with thermoplastic furniture films, particularly PVC, in membrane and vacuum presses. Verify the compatibility of the specific film and substrate by trial bonding.
A white dispersion with lower viscosity and a lower reactivation temperature. Its viscosity of about 800 mPa·s distinguishes this grade from variants around 2200 mPa·s.
Technical specifications
| Basis | Water-based polyurethane dispersion |
|---|---|
| Colour | White; transparent when dry |
| Viscosity at 20 °C, mPa·s | 800 ± 200 |
| Adhesive film reactivation | From 50 °C |
| Heat resistance without / with hardener | 90 / 120 °C |
| Hardener | 5% KLEIBERIT 807.0 |
| Packaging | 26 kg |
Values are guides for process selection. Heat resistance depends on materials and test conditions; it does not indicate a permissible continuous service temperature.
Preparation and application
Spray the adhesive onto dry, dust-free MDF. Absorbent edges and routed areas may need a second coat. Dry the adhesive film before pressing. The stated temperature refers to reactivation of the adhesive film, rather than the press heater setting. Adjust the process to the film, component geometry and equipment.
For two-component use, add 5% KLEIBERIT 807.0 by adhesive weight: 50 g per 1 kg, or 1.3 kg per 26 kg canister. Add the hardener gradually while stirring. Prepare only the amount needed for the process.
At about 20 °C, pot life with hardener is approximately 8 hours and guide drying time is 30–60 minutes. Consumption: 40–80 g/m² on smooth MDF and 100–120 g/m² on routed areas.
Storage
Keep in tightly closed original packaging and protect from freezing. Check the current technical data sheet and batch label for storage conditions and shelf life.
