KLEIBERIT 761.6 is a professional cleaning compound for systems processing PUR hot-melt adhesives. It combines flushing and intensive cleaning action and helps remove unreacted, cured and burnt PUR hot-melt adhesive.
Processing temperature: 150-160 °C.
For effective cleaning, fully melt KLEIBERIT 761.6 at approximately 150 °C. Heat the tank, hoses and all other components being cleaned to the same temperature. Do not keep the product above the recommended temperature: prolonged overheating may generate harmful decomposition products. Use suitable extraction to remove vapours.
Applications
- tank and drum melters;
- gear pumps and feed hoses;
- metal application heads, slot nozzles and rollers;
- routine maintenance and clearing blocked hoses.
How to use
- Remove as much residual PUR hot-melt adhesive as possible. Follow all safety rules applicable to PUR hot melts.
- Disconnect application units from the feed hose. Position the free hose end pointing upward over a suitable metal collection container.
- Installing new filters before cleaning is recommended; replace them with new filters again after cleaning.
- Add the required quantity of KLEIBERIT 761.6. Melt it completely at about 150 °C and heat the components to be cleaned to the same temperature.
- Run the pump until the blue cleaner appears at the free hose end, then stop pumping and allow it to work for about 30 minutes.
- Lower the hose into the container and run the pump at medium speed for 5-10 seconds. Stop again for 30 minutes.
- Repeat according to the level of contamination. For equipment not cleaned for a long time, the cleaner may remain in the system for several hours with all normal safety precautions in place.
- When the discharged melt contains no more particles, reconnect the nozzle and clean it in the same way.
- Pump the cleaner completely out. When restarting, feed fresh PUR adhesive until no blue colour remains visible.
