Water-based coloured impregnating stain for exterior softwood. Provides natural wood shades and UV protection. Designed as a protective base coat and requires a subsequent exterior clear coat.

AM0546/XX is a coloured preservative impregnating stain designed to protect softwood used in exterior applications. It provides natural wood shades and helps produce an even appearance, with reduced dark staining around knots and reduced colour variation in areas of higher absorption, including woods such as spruce and hemlock.

The formulation contains harmonising additives. Because these additives may form sediment, stir the product thoroughly before use.

UV protection for exterior wood

AM0546/XX contains transparent iron oxides that provide good light resistance and absorb ultraviolet radiation, helping protect the wood against lignin degradation. Colourless versions are not recommended where effective exterior UV protection is required because they do not provide the same protection.

Colour adjustment

For shade adjustment, up to 3% of compatible colouring pastes may be added: XA4034/72 black, XA4034/B2 red or XA4034/B7 yellow.

Application

AM0546/XX is intended as an impregnating and colouring base coat for exterior wooden components. A suitable exterior clear coat should be applied afterwards to complete the coating system.
