Description

CMT 226.stainless Circular Saw Blades for Stainless Steel

The industrial CMT 226.stainless series includes ten HW carbide-tipped blades for cutting common stainless steels. Diameters range from 160 to 355 mm, with bores of 15.88, 20, 25.4 or 30 mm. Every option in the table corresponds to an actual item in the CMT 2026 catalogue.

Materials and applications

CMT recommends this series for common stainless steels, including grades 302, 303 and 304. Performance is not guaranteed for harder materials, such as grade 316. Choose the item according to the workpiece material and section and the machine requirements.

Benefits

  • HW carbide tips with TCG or FWF tooth geometry, depending on the item.
  • Selection by exact CMT code, diameter, bore and tooth count.
  • A range for compatible machines using 160–355 mm blades.

Machine and speed selection

MAX RPM is the maximum speed listed in the CMT 2026 catalogue, not a universal operating recommendation. Follow the blade markings, machine instructions and application requirements. Before fitting, check the bore, drive pin holes, rotation direction, guards and machine compatibility. Do not select the operating speed by diameter alone.

Frequently asked questions

Can I cut 316 stainless steel? CMT states that performance is not guaranteed on harder materials, including 316. Ask for an application check before ordering.

Do all sizes have the same teeth? No. The 160–216 mm items have TCG geometry in the 2026 catalogue; the 250–355 mm items have FWF 10° geometry.

How do I choose the bore? Match the machine spindle and drive system. Outside diameter alone does not establish compatibility.

What does MAX RPM mean? The maximum permitted rotational speed. Actual operating conditions must follow the machine and blade manufacturers’ instructions.
