KLEIBERIT 605.0 STP adhesive for wood and mixed-material bonding
KLEIBERIT 605.0 is a professional one-component adhesive based on silane-terminated polymers (STP), manufactured in Germany by KLEIBERIT SE & Co. KG. It is designed for joinery and large-area bonding in dry interior spaces.
The adhesive cures through moisture from the air and the bonded materials. It contains no water, solvents or isocyanates. It does not foam or expand in the joint, helping produce clean and even bonds. Once fully cured, the adhesive surface can be painted; a preliminary test with the intended finishing system is recommended.
Applications
KLEIBERIT 605.0 can bond beech, oak and spruce, as well as MDF, chipboard and other wood-based materials. It is also suitable for combining wood with:
- aluminium;
- stainless steel;
- galvanised steel;
- glass;
- concrete;
- polyester composites;
- epoxy resin composites.
The product is recommended for dry rooms. Typical processing conditions are 20°C and 50–65% relative humidity. For large-area bonding, at least one substrate must allow moisture to pass through; wood, MDF, chipboard and concrete normally meet this requirement.
Key benefits
- one-component, easy and controlled application;
- contains no water, solvents or isocyanates;
- does not foam during curing;
- does not expand or shrink in the joint;
- bonds wood to a range of dissimilar materials;
- forms a semi-hard adhesive layer;
- can be painted after full curing;
- application temperature from +5°C to +30°C;
- manufactured in Germany.
Preparation and application
Surfaces must be sound, clean and dry. Remove dust, grease and other contaminants. If necessary, sand metal surfaces to improve adhesion.
Apply KLEIBERIT 605.0 to one surface only, preferably the less porous substrate. It can be applied with a brush, roller, notched trowel or nozzle system.
Join the parts before a skin forms. The approximate skin-forming time is 8 minutes at 20°C and 50% relative humidity; higher temperature and humidity shorten this period. Protect press surfaces with silicone paper and clean tools immediately after use. Cured adhesive can be removed only mechanically.

Limitations and storage
This professional joinery adhesive is intended for dry interior spaces. KLEIBERIT 605.0 is not specified by the manufacturer as a D4 water-resistance-class adhesive.
Do not use it outdoors or for joints frequently exposed to moisture. Choose an adhesive with the appropriate water resistance for such applications. After opening, use the container as soon as possible because airborne moisture may form a skin inside the package. The product is intended for professional users.
